Whitebridge Consulting hosts a lively roundtable on Collaborative Contracting
At the Jaarcongres Strategic Sourcing on 15 June in Vianen Netherlands, Whitebridge Consulting hosted a lively roundtable on the topic of “Collaborative Contracting, Emerging Practices”.
Gerwin Pol, Managing Partner, and Paul van Wijngaarden, Partner, hosted the roundtable session. The roundtable was attended by IT and sourcing leaders from ABN AMRO, Aegon, IAK Verzekeringen, Dela, Triodos Bank, NIBC, Hogeschool Utrech, Heijmans Ministerie van Veiligheid en Justitie.
The theme of this year’s conference was “Sourcing has become mature, what’s next?”. During the roundtable, we explored, if this is also true for the contracting practices. Tendering and contracting practices still seem to be very much based on the traditional RfP process, that insufficiently support today’s challenges.
During the roundtable we discussed a number of emerging practices:
- Negotiation is not Collaboration – Competitive Collaboration beats Negotiation
- The dilemma of Perfect Information: Creating a Shared Understanding
- The Best Contract is not in the Drawer, but underpinning and part of Sourcing Governance
- Cost AND Value: Driving Standardisation and Automation
