- The fundamental changes in consumer behaviour due to the pandemic and the acceleration of Retail by the 24/7 omnichannel put an unprecedented pressure on IT. This retailer relied for many years on a core relationship with their premier IT services supplier, but the current pressures turn out to be a real gamechanger for the partnering strategy. With the expiration of the existing contracts for Infrastructure services a review of the relationship with the primary supplier became more than evident. Next, there were many debates whether the current situation with a seemingly high satisfaction with the IT services of the previous generation was sustainable.
- Whitebridge enabled the Retailer to take the next step in their Digital Transformation through partnering. We provided an an excellent view on the state of the market (services, solutions, transformation scenarios used by competitors) relevant for their challenges. Together with the insight on the coverage and performance of the current services the ambition for the mid-term IT services solutions were realistically set and agreed. Next, the scenario with the highest benefit and the lowest risk was chosen.
Approach: Whitebridge provided a neutral and objective assessment and worked with the client team to get the buy-in for the Change scenario
- Working with the CIO and IT management to reveal underlying challenges for the retailer (accelerate the digital model, Stabilize current operations, get the people with opposite opinions on board, re-think the supplier relationships to get more value)
- Defined new partnering objectives including new criteria for satisfaction (End-to-end performance management, improvements and innovations, a managed transition to DevOps, grab the benefits of a hybrid cloud, be ready for further international business expansion while executing stabilized change)
- Generated fact-based Insight in the services per domain, contract Schedules, cost per service domain
- Discussed current experiences, satisfaction and future needs with the IT management team, a broad representation of the users, service delivery managers and business representatives
- Got detailed information on possible and proven solutions to the customers challenges of 10 leading services suppliers
- Built realistic scenarios for the future and identified the preferred scenario, including the change aspects of the scenario
